IMOM Lab is now funded by NSERC (Discovery Grant).

Chengkai Fan has been awarded the Excellent Scientific Editor Award 2025 by the Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (JRMGE) on April 3, 2026.

Eduardo Prasniewski from UTFPR, Brazil received the Mitacs Globalink Research Award (GRA) on March 23. Congratulations!

Chengkai Fan visited the Department of Civil Engineering at University of Ottawa on March 13. 

Dr. Mohammed Rida Benmansour leaved the group in Winter 2026 to continue his postdoctoral research at Queen’s University, where he will continue his collaboration with Prof. Fei Wang following Prof. Wang’s earlier move from Université Laval. We thank Rida for his valuable contributions to the group and wish him all the best in his future career.

Chengkai Fan visited the Department of Mining and Materials Engineering at McGill University on March 6. 

Chengkai Fan attended the CEN Annual Conference 2026 held at ULaval from February 12-13 on behalf of the executive committee of CSCE Cold Regions Technical Division.

Chengkai Fan was invited to give a presentation at the Recruitment Day organized by Centre E4m at ULaval.
